dew days

June always brings nice weather. Wait...what nice weather? We've had nothing but rain and cold. and wind. Not sure what the sun looks like anymore. But June also brings Dew Days. And along with it, fun times for the family and kiddos.
This year I ventured out with the boys on a 4 mile round trip in the wagon to a "family fun day". They went inside a fire truck, stood in many lines to get a balloon, play silly games to get treats and prizes, and hold the fire hose to put out the flames in a wooden house.

A few days later we went to our local dew days parade. The kids go nuts (including Jeremy, who is the ring leader) when the candy is tossed out to them. Its worse than Halloween with the intake of candy. They get a full bag of candy, along with a back-scratcher, can coozies, pencils and beach soccer balls. Lots of fun! This year we even got the cinch-style backpacks. We had the neighbors, Brian and Rachel, join us in the parade this year. Even though it rained, we had lots of fun. The boys tried to be as red-neck as possible....
