Jeremy and I are deciding whether or not to add on to our house or if we should just move. We have maxed out of our house, yet we love the neighbors and neighborhood.
Pros to remodeling:
*we would get another bedroom (master w/a bath & closet)
*extra space
*love the neighbors/neighborhood
*there are 7 homes for sale in our neighborhood and are not selling
cons:
*can be spendy
*2 months of chaos, messy, hammers at 7 am
*we can get a bigger house for cheap
We had three people come out this weekend to help us with our decision. The first contractor was nice, had a great plan and idea, but was obscenely expensive! After hearing his price, we about died. We for sure said there was no way we could do it.
The second person came in, measured, asked a lot of questions, looked around the house and outside, and then came up with a different plan that we liked as well. It was also in our price range. He is going to put his plan on paper and get back to us in a week to go over his final plan.
The third contractor came in, was blunt, straight forward. He gave us the same plan idea as the first contractor, but cheaper range that we could afford. We have friends that had work done (a two level addition like what we want) from him and they highly recommended him. I saw his work and he did a great job. It's not a for sure thing, but we are leaning towards him.
We have a fourth and final person coming out tomorrow night. We will see what they say. I never knew you could just create a space onto a house the way they say we can and what we want. I'm anxious to see what the two contractors come up with! If only the week could go by fast.
On a different note, my parents came down for the weekend. It was nice to hang out with them. We haven't seen them since Christmas! Two days just isn't enough time to really hang out, but the boys just loved having them here!
