Stitch

This week has been filled with nothing but chaos. Monday I received a message from daycare at noon that Logan had fallen and I should call back right away. I call her back to find out that he was running in the house (when asked not to several times) tripped, fell and somehow got a hole in his forehead....above his previous scar. The only way he could have gotten this hole is by hitting his glasses on a cushion and they somehow poked him in the forehead. I get there as soon as I can and sure enough, he's playing outside like nothing ever happened. 'mom...I'm fine.' I lift back his blood-filled bandaid and notice a small slit. Great.
We go into the local clinic because they will do stitches if needed, and we thankfully get an appt with the pediatrician on call. She takes a peek at it and suggests 3 stitches. She also thought we should head to children's hospital because he may need several people to hold him down. I look at her and let her know that this wouldn't be his first set of stitches. Or stitches on the face. This would be easy for everyone. Sure enough....he did AMAZING! He was numbed up with a cream for awhile before they gave him a shot of liticain. That part he felt at the end but didn't even shed a tear. Just a grimace and discussion of what type of shake we would get afterwards. Logan almost fell asleep while getting the stitches. Amazing! I know that I would not have done as well as he did. He cleaned up and then we headed off to get his shake. Jeremy had to work until 1 am, so he wasn't able to help out much that night. Tomorrow we get the stitches out....and have learned not to run in the house (the hard way finding out because listening isn't as fun to do I guess). But here is what he looks like with another set of stitches....
