wee wee

Last Monday started a whole new world for us. Bennet decided to start potty training! Daycare really has to take the credit. She created a potty chart for both home and daycare, as well as provided us with the same stickers.

Day 1: Started out with him wearing diapers all day and trying to use the potty throughout the day. After 4 attempts he went! At home that night....nothing.
Day 2: Diapers worn all day but went potty 2 times at daycare and once at home!!
Day 3: Wore underwear all day! We had a few accidents but used the potty 4 times!!
Day 4: Wore underwear and had no accidents all day/night!
Day 5: Underwear again but had accidents.
Day 6: Was a complete mess. It was Saturday and home with mom. I guess Bennet just wanted to take a break because we struggled all day with having accidents, but went in the potty. I was determined that things were just not clicking for Bennet and he didn't know when he needed to use the bathroom and it was just us pushing it. But, Bennet surprised us all. We kept using the words 'potty' to use the bathroom. We were eating supper when he points up to the bathroom and says "wee wee". IT CLICKED!!! I was soo excited for him. I was nervous that it was us pushing this potty training but he is ready. And he gets it and is happy everytime he goes!
Day 7: We took a chance and went in public with underwear. We first went to church and we told us when he needed to go. We then went grocery shopping and sure enough, both stores he had to go "wee wee".

Now we just need to master going poop on the toilet. For some reason he is freaked out with the concept. We put a smaller kid lid on the seat for him to use but it's not working. Not sure how to get him comfortable with it, but I know we will someday. Until then, poop in the pants it is. Yuck.
