repainting the kitchen

So Jeremy and I have been trying to agree on a color to paint our kitchen, getting rid of the old burgandy color. I wanted a light, soft blue/grey color; he wanted a dark blue color (likes the dark colors, and I think he didn't want anything close to having any UNC colors in the house). After a month of picking out colors, evening leaning towards green, we found a color!!! It's a medium-toned smokey blue, which I am very excited about. I am a little nervous about the change, going from a dark, rich red to a smokey blue, but overall I think it will look nice. I am going for the blues/tans/chocolates for our color scheme in the house. I hope it works out. I will show before and after photos when I am done. I started last night--forgot how much work painting can be, especially in the kitchen area. Wish me luck!
