the countdown begins...

Well, we got a call from the doctor this morning that my preterm labor test came back positive. The odds of me going into labor within the next two weeks is very high. Not what we wanted to hear, but were preparing ourselves for. We're excited to have our little bundle of joy here, but not this early. At least we know he will be ok, just a little on the small side. No chunky rolls like Logan.
My doctor called the hospital and ordered me to go in to get a steroid shot for his lungs. I had it with Logan as well--not so much a fun one to get, but it's worth every ounce of burning. This shot will help ensure us that his lungs will be developed and hopefully prevent any breathing problems when in the NICU. It's a 2 series shot, so I get the privilage to go in again tomorrow.
When I spoke with my doctor this morning, she didn't sound too reassuring that I was going to make it much longer. She is praying I make it to Tuesday, my next appt and 34 week mark. I'm on bed rest and stuck in the basement until then, eliminating any major stair climbing and other "could be harmful" activities. No more taking care of Logan on my own either, so we are scheduling people to be with me next week until mom H comes on Thursday, which will help us out tremendously since she will be here for 10 days. Plus it being so hot and humid outside, no more sunshine for me either. Can't be out in the humidity I guess. Oh well, it could be worse, right? We are very thankful for all the positive thoughts and outpours of help. We will let everyone know if there is anything we need or if anything happens. Tuesday is only a few days away and I know that we can make it.
